Animal Communication
FAQs
-
Animal communication is the exchange of information with animals in the energetic and spiritual realms, as opposed to the physical and tangible realm we're so used to.
The information comes through what we often call our "subtle senses" in in a variety of ways. For example, the communicator may experience:
Mental images or scenes in the mind's eye
Physical sensations that mirror what the animal is experiencing
Direct thoughts or knowing
Emotional impressions
Quiet sounds or words
Although you might not know it yet, you’ve probably already experienced moments of energetic communication with your animal companions, like when you sense your dog needs something before they show any obvious signs, or when you just know your cat is about to jump in your lap even before they move.
Or, think about times you’ve had a gut feeling—like when you just knew who was calling even before you checked your phone, or when you sensed someone staring at you from afar.
Animal communication is about working with these same natural energetic abilities that we already use every day, just in a more focused way.
-
Ultimately, these sessions can deepen your relationships with your animal companions and help you reach new levels of understanding and support—even after they’ve crossed the rainbow bridge.
If you currently live with animal companions, then a session can help you understand them better, find out more about what they need and want, better support their health and wellbeing, achieve more harmony in the household, and even trust your own intuition with them. Many people come to me for help around anxiety and behavioral issues, illness, end-of-life transitions, preparing for all kinds of changes, and so much more.
If your animal companion has passed, then a session can allow you to hear from them in spirit and even help you continue your relationship with them. You can find out their perspective on their passing, ask about their favorite memories with you, learn how they’d like to be remembered and honored, understand and know when they’re sending signs to you, and so much more.
-
Yes. Communicating with animals in spirit makes up about half of my work.
-
I certainly can. I can also communicate with animals who have died and animals who are still alive in one session. If you’d like to connect with more than three animals, I suggest adding extra time to your session or planning for more than one session.
-
It’s very rare that this happens, but if it does, I’ll let you know and offer you a refund or reschedule your session for another day. Consent, transparency, and honesty are all important parts of my work.
-
No. It’s against my ethics to communicate with or provide Reiki to a living animal who is not under your direct care, even if your intention to do so is good. This is also stated in the terms and conditions you agree to when you book a session.
Animal Reiki
FAQs
-
When we talk about Reiki we’re actually talking about two things: Reiki itself and Reiki practice.
Reiki itself is the dimensionless, unified field in which everything exists. For ease of understanding, we can call it Reiki energy. Reiki practice, or the act of accessing this universal energy, is often viewed as both a healing art and a spiritual practice.
Trained Reiki practitioners may channel Reiki energy to themselves or others (including animals) to gently restore energetic balance to the whole being and bring about the needed conditions for all types of healing—spiritual, emotional, and physical.
Practitioners can do this either in-person or remotely because Reiki energy isn’t bound by time or space. Remote sessions are just as effective as in-person ones—and I find that animals actually often prefer them.
-
Every Reiki experience can be different, but generally, it’s known to ease pain, calm nerves, and soothe the soul. When practiced with animals, it can be a gentle, holistic, and non-invasive complement to veterinary care and provide them with compassionate support through illness, anxiety, or difficult times. It can also help make their end-of-life transitions more peaceful.
-
In short, while animal communication helps us understand your companion’s experience and preferences more clearly, Reiki offers direct energetic support for their comfort and wellbeing. Think of communication as the conversation that helps us know what they need, and Reiki as one of the ways we can support those needs.
-
No, only a licensed veterinarian can do that. If your animal companion is sick, I’ll recommend that you seek the care of a vet if you haven’t already.
However, understanding your companion’s perspective through animal communication can help you feel more confident in your care for them. While you and your vet are accountable for their medical decisions, your companion can share how they’re feeling and what makes them most comfortable, helping you make choices that honor both their needs and your bond.
Reiki can also be a wonderful complement to veterinary care since it can help bring about the needed conditions for healing and invite more peace and ease to any situation.
It all works beautifully together to help you provide your animal with holistic, compassionate care.
-
It’s ideal if your animal companion is at home and relaxing (although there are some exceptions to that). Also, try to avoid booking sessions during mealtimes or playtimes. Other than that, you don’t need to do much to prepare.
If you’re joining the session, then just get comfortable—whatever that means to you—ahead of the session. You can cuddle or lie down with your companion animal(s) if that feels right for everybody, but it's not necessary for the session to be effective. The most important thing is that you’re open to receiving the energy.
-
Yes, as long as they’re in the same household.
-
Yes. In fact, I encourage doing so. It’s a unique offering I provide. You just need to let me know if you’d like to join so I can include you (I’ll ask you).
Pet Loss Grief
FAQs
-
I usually recommend waiting at least a couple of weeks to allow yourself to reflect and process some grief so you can open more fully to the experience and better retain what comes through.
But there’s no hard and fast rule, and in the end, it’s up to you. I trust you to decide whether or not you’re ready.
-
You don't need to hold back tears or try to be "strong" here. I know that this isn’t just an experiment for you; you’re maintaining a bond with someone you love deeply.
Seeking connection with your animal companion after they've crossed over takes courage, and it's natural to feel vulnerable. This is a space where your grief is honored, where no emotion is too big, and where you won't be judged for how deeply you feel this loss.
It's also normal to feel grief and sadness even while an aging or sick animal companion is still with you—that's part of loving deeply. Your feelings aren't "too much," and you don't have to go through this alone.
-
Beyond communicating with your animal companions to help bring forward evidence of your continued connection with them in spirit, I tend to follow the companioning model of grief support.
This model does not see grief as something to be cured or treated, but as a natural and necessary part of love (even when they’re still living). I will be present with you in whatever comes up and bear witness to your emotions and experiences from a place of non-judgement.
With your animal companion’s input, we may discuss ways you can continue to honor them and your relationship, including creating altars, doing rituals, and looking for signs. But the focus will never be on “fixing” you or taking away your grief.
I may incorporate grief support into any session, if needed. This may be the anticipatory grief that comes up when an animal is still living or grief after an animal’s death.
Session
FAQs
-
Having one session choice makes it simpler for everyone and allows us enough time to cover everything.
You also have the option of adding 15 or 30 minutes to your first session for a deeply discounted price. You might want to do this if you have more than three animals, have a lot to cover, want to set up an ongoing support plan, and/or want to ensure you have enough time for both communication and Reiki.
After our initial meeting, you’ll have the option of booking shorter sessions and packages as a returning client.
-
Whether your animal companions are living or in spirit, you can expect to move toward greater understanding and healing with them and to be welcomed by me with compassion and empathy. And here’s what you can expect on a more logistical level:
When you book an appointment online, you’ll fill out a form that will ask you for a bit of information to help me prepare for and tailor the session. You can also send pictures of your animals, but that’s optional.
You’ll get a confirmation email after you book, and you’ll also get a reminder email a few hours before the session starts.
When it’s time for the session, we’ll hop on the phone or Zoom (your choice). I’ll begin by explaining the details of how I work, and we’ll confirm your needs and intentions. If we’re on Zoom, I’ll give you the option to record the session. (If you want to record a phone session on your end you’re welcome to do that.)
We’ll always begin with animal communication, and depending on your needs, we can include Reiki, grief support, or other elements later on. In some cases, especially with multiple animals, we'll continue the communication for the whole session.
You can be an active participant in the conversation with your companions. I act as a channel and translator, helping facilitate clear communication in both directions—your animals sharing their perspectives and needs, and you asking questions and sharing your thoughts.
If you’re looking for ongoing support, we’ll discuss your options at the end of the session.
-
If possible, try to be somewhere without too much noise or distraction. We can record the session, but you can bring something to take notes if you’d like. Other than that, all you need to do is try your best to remain open and curious.
Your living animals don’t need to be next to you for me to be able to connect and communicate with them. But they’re always more than welcome to join and say hello if they’re nearby.
-
No, they don’t need to be next to you for me to be able to connect and talk with them or do Reiki. But they’re always more than welcome to join and say hello if they’re and nearby.
-
Please reach out to me via email as soon as possible if you’re going to be late or are unable to make your session. In general, I don’t give refunds if you cancel less than 24 hours in advance, and I’ll consider you a no-show if you’re more than 10 minutes late. I make exceptions for emergencies and illness, of course. You must agree to my refund and cancellation before booking a session.
-
I recommend booking a 30-minute session if you’re looking to connect with one animal and a 60-minute session if you’re looking to connect with more than one. Private Reiki sessions are usually 30 minutes as well.
Please only book a 15-minute session if you’d like me to check in with your animal about something we’ve previously discussed (end-of-life readiness, progress checks, etc.).
-
That’s really up to your needs, budget, and the season of life you’re in with your animal companions.
If things are going okay and you just want to check in with your animal companions, then once a year or once a quarter could be good rhythms.
If you’re going through an especially difficult time with your animal companion, like an illness, move, or end-of-life transition, or you’re experiencing intense grief, then you might want to get a package and book sessions more often.
I aim to help you improve and trust your own communication with your animal companions through our work together. But sometimes it can be more difficult to connect with them when your own emotions are (understandably!) feeling very intense, so bringing in my support in difficult situations could feel especially helpful for both of you. (I even work with other animal communicators sometimes, too!)
-
While energy work and communication are investments beyond veterinary care, they can provide valuable support for both your companion’s comfort and your peace of mind. They’re also part of a holistic approach that values the emotional and spiritual well-being of your animal family as much as their physical care.
Many clients find that this additional layer of support also helps them feel closer to their animal companions and more confident in their care decisions.
-
No, they don’t have an expiration date, and I’ll give you a heads up and offer you options if I change or discontinue any services.
-
Aside from occasional in-person events, I do all of my sessions virtually via phone or Zoom (since well before the pandemic began). Because I’m connecting with your animal’s energy and soul, which are not bound by time or space, I can do this work from anywhere, and it’s just as effective as doing it in-person (I’ve found that most animals actually prefer it).
-
I do every once in a while. You can join the waitlist to be among the first to know when spots open up.
-
I do it on occasion for returning clients who are going through difficult situations with their animals. Usually we have a conversation about it. Otherwise, you need to book at least 48 hours in advance, so please plan accordingly.
Gift
FAQs
-
I usually recommend purchasing a 60-minute session if we’ve never worked together before. That way they can book a standard new-client session. If they’re a returning client, you can purchase a 30-minute session. If they have only one animal and your budget is limited, you could get away with purchasing a 30-minute session for them as well.
-
No, I do not offer refunds for gifts. If needed, you can use it for yourself or give it to someone else.
-
No, they don’t expire. You can use them as long as I’m still in business. If you received a gift certificate for a service I no longer offer, please contact me.
General + Misc.
FAQs
-
I’m glad you asked! You can read it here. But in short, I usually require 24 hours notice for cancellation and otherwise don’t offer refunds unless you’re experiencing an emergency.
-
I’m open to working with any animal who is or was in your care. I work with cats, dogs, and horses most often. But I’ve also worked with rabbits, birds (from parakeets to chickens), guinea pigs, hamsters, rats, snakes, lizards, hedgehogs, and pigs.
-
I no longer take on lost or missing animal cases. But I can recommend a fellow animal communicator who does: Michael Lane.
-
Both animal communication and Reiki work in the energetic realm—that space beyond our physical senses where we can sense things without seeing, hearing, or touching them directly. Since it’s not bound by time or space, we can do this work from anywhere.
-
Sometimes! I consider each request on a case-by-case basis. You’re welcome to contact me with the details of your request, and we can have a conversation about it.
-
Maybe! You’re welcome to reach out to me with the details, and I’ll let you know if it feels aligned.

The lovely bird on my logo is the resplendent quetzal, who has been such an important guide on my spiritual path and played a big part in uncovering my ability to communicate with animals.
The O not only represents my name, but the connections I help cultivate through my work, as well as the birth-life-death-rebirth cycle that we’re all constantly moving through.
The logo was designed by the wonderful November Wild.
